Mountain Home, Bonnington
- A casual conversation in 2021 led to this collaboration among Ontario clients Ron and Kim, Victoria designer Leigh Mayoh, and Nelson's Ruby Mountain Builders Inc. Due to a late-season start, we poured the foundation walls about a week before Christmas, and began framing in January. Frequent, early-season snowstorms and wind-chills as low as -20C gave way to an early summer. Through it all, the clients were patient, reasonable, and appreciative, and showed a willingness to forgo some frills in order to claw back some savings in the wake of site-driven expenses. Their enthusiasm made it a pleasure for us to go to work.
- Ruby Mountain Builders achieved Step 4 of the BC Energy Step Code, surpassing the proposed Step 3. The home uses 40% less energy than a typical new build. Designer Leigh provided excellent support throughout, and we are proud to present his handsome work, and website: https://www.mayoh.ca/
