While we are happy to bid plans you bring us, we like Stacy at A Simple Plan, in Nelson, and Leigh Mayoh of Mayoh Design. Leigh's willingness to tweak details and speak at length about important structural elements makes our job so much easier. His strong background in timber framing produces beautiful homes.

Building Technologies
We use insulated concrete forms (ICF) to build foundations, as they offer superior energy performance and speed of assembly for your West Kootenay home. With only one process, an ICF wall achieves several layers: air barrier, structural, insulation, vapour barrier, and a surface ready for drywall attachment. We now use Nudura blocks, from our supplier, Rokform Solutions in Thrums, BC. http://www.rokformsolutions.ca |

Adapting to the Step Code
Ruby Mountain Builders is keeping pace with the BC Building Code, as it moves toward requiring net-zero energy ready homes by 2032. Our latest project achieved Step 4, and consumes 40% less energy than a typical new building. Prior to launching Ruby Mountain Builders, owner Alan de Chezet designed and built a solar cabin, as well as installed a solar system on a container home. We have know-how and solid industry contacts that would give us a jump on solar or off-grid projects.
